The journey to achieving success in End-Point Assessments (EPA) for Business & Administration Standards can be both rewarding and challenging. With high pass rates across multiple levels, apprentices can take advantage of key strategies to excel. This blog will highlight NQual's success rates, provide key insights, and offer practical tips for apprentices preparing for their EPAs provided by our knowledgeable team of professionals.

EPA Success Rates: A Strong Performance

  • Operations or Departmental Manager Level 5 – 98% Pass rate (48% Distinction)

  • Coaching Professional Level 5 – 100% Pass rate (25% Distinction)

  • Team Leader or Supervisor Level 3 – 100% Pass rate (65% Distinction)

Valuable Feedback from Apprentices

Apprentices have shared positive experiences with their EPAs, especially regarding their independent assessors. Many highlight the supportive and reassuring approach taken during observed assessments, which has helped put candidates at ease and create a more comfortable environment for showcasing their skills.

Top Tips for EPA Success

To help apprentices maximize their chances of success, here are some practical tips:

1. Utilise Technology Support

NQual offers a 15-minute technology support session before assessments. Apprentices should ensure they book and attend these sessions to avoid technical issues that could disrupt their EPA.

2. Activate Rogo Profiles Promptly

For standards that involve a knowledge tests, Rogo profiles should be activated within 48 hours of receiving the confirmation email. This ensures timely access to essential support resources and that their are no issues that could disrupt the EPA. If an email to create a Rogo profile hasn't been received, apprentices should contact NQual as soon as possible.

3. Plan for Reasonable Adjustments

If reasonable adjustments are required, these should be requested at the point of registration. This allows NQual to confirm and implement necessary accommodations before the assessment.

4. Understand Portfolio Requirements

Apprentices should verify their portfolio requirements, as some standards do not allow reflective accounts. Utilise product evidence and avoid lengthy written accounts, which can be difficult to refer to at EPA.

5. Maximise Observation Assessments

For apprentices assessed through Observation, it is crucial to make full use of the assessment time by demonstrating a wide range of skills. This approach ensures a comprehensive showcase of competencies.

Final Thoughts

With impressive success rates and a strong support system in place, Business & Administration apprentices have every opportunity to achieve their goals. By following the provided guidance, utilizing available resources, and preparing effectively, candidates can approach their EPA with confidence and maximize their chances of earning a distinction.

For further assistance, apprentices are encouraged to reach out to their training providers and take full advantage of the support available to them.
