Level 3 Award in Diverse Hair Types

Overview

The NQual Level 3 Award in Diverse Hair Types is an Ofqual‑regulated qualification for training providers to deliver, that equips learners with the skills and knowledge needed to enhance their career opportunities and reputation within the industry. This award is designed for those who have completed their Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing and have experience within the sector.

This qualification will provide learners with the chance to develop theoretical knowledge and gain technical skills in areas such as cutting, styling and colouring different hair types and the suggested aftercare for those with diverse hair types.

Upon completion of this qualification, learners will be equipped to offer a wider range of services to a more diverse clientele. They will be able to confidently cut, colour and style various hair textures, ensuring client satisfaction and building a strong reputation.

This qualification has been mapped to the current National Occupational Standards: www.ukstandards.org.uk/en 

This qualification is awarded by NQual, an Ofqual‑regulated Awarding Organisation, and is available to approved centres.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for The NQual Level 3 Award in Diverse Hair Types  qualification are:

• Minimum age 16

• Level 2 Diploma in Hair Dressing

Unit Guidance

Learners must achieve all mandatory units. The total credit value for this qualification is 10.

Guided Learning Hours (GLH)

These hours are made up of contact time, guidance or supervision from course tutors, trainers, or training providers. The Guided Learning Hours for this qualification is 90.

Total Qualification Time (TQT)

This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of understanding required for the award of this qualification. This includes the Guided Learning Hours and time spent completing independent study.
