Overview
The NQual Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Hairdressing is an Ofqual‑regulated qualification for training providers to deliver, that equips learners with the advanced skills and knowledge needed required to work independently as a qualified hairdresser or a successful career within a salon environment. This qualification builds upon the foundation established at Level 2.
It will provide learners with the chance to develop theoretical knowledge and gain advanced technical skills in cutting, colouring and styling hair.
Upon completion of this qualification, learners will be more likely to gain employment opportunities, career progression, and advanced skill in treatment areas.
This qualification has been mapped to the current National Occupational Standards: www.ukstandards.org.uk/en
This qualification is awarded by NQual, an Ofqual‑regulated Awarding Organisation, and is available to approved centres.
Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for The NQual Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Hairdressing qualification are:
Minimum age 16
Level 2 Diploma in Hair Dressing
There are no further entry requirements for this qualification.
Unit Guidance
Learners must achieve all mandatory units and at least 10 credits of optional units. The minimum credit value for this qualification is 60.
Guided Learning Hours (GLH)
These hours are made up of contact time, guidance or supervision from course tutors, trainers, or training providers. The minimum Guided Learning Hours for this qualification is 540.
Total Qualification Time (TQT)
This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of understanding required for the award of this qualification. This includes the Guided Learning Hours and time spent completing independent study.
The minimum Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 600.
