Safeguarding Support Officer Level 3 Overview for Training Providers
The Safeguarding Support Officer Level 3 apprenticeship prepares practitioners to support the safeguarding and wellbeing of individuals across a range of education and care settings.
Safeguarding Support Officers work within organisations such as schools, colleges, and community services, helping to identify, respond to, and manage safeguarding concerns in line with statutory guidance and organisational policies.
Their role focuses on supporting individuals who may be at risk, ensuring appropriate action is taken to protect their safety, wellbeing, and rights.
For Training Providers, delivering the Safeguarding Support Officer Level 3 standard requires:
Supporting apprentices to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns
Developing knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures linked to safeguarding and protection
Preparing apprentices for End-Point Assessment (EPA), ensuring they can demonstrate both practical application and professional judgement
