Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Team Leadership

Overview

The NQual Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Team Leadership is a knowledge-based, Ofqual-regulated qualification covering the principles of leading and managing teams in the workplace. This qualification is for aspiring team leaders, newly appointed team leaders and those changing careers — learners are not required to hold a team leadership role.

This qualification consists of four mandatory units: leadership characteristics and styles; effective communication and active listening; team management models and motivation; professional development planning; decision-making and the principles of management.

This qualification is awarded by NQual, an Ofqual‑regulated Awarding Organisation, and is available to approved centres.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for the NQual Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Team Leadershipt qualification are:

• Minimum age: 16

• No requirement to be employed in a team leadership role

Unit Guidance

Learners must achieve all mandatory units. The total credit value for this qualification is 19.

All learning outcomes within this qualification are assessed as knowledge outcomes. Assessment does not require the learner to demonstrate occupational competence in the workplace.

These hours are made up of contact time, guidance or supervision from course tutors, trainers, or training providers. The Guided Learning Hours for this qualification is 152.

Total Qualification Time (TQT)

This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of understanding required for the award of this qualification. This includes the Guided Learning Hours and time spent completing independent study.

The Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 190.
