Deliver Apprenticeship Assessment for Learning & Development Practitioner Level 3

Learning and Development Practitioners identify training needs, design or source learning solutions, and deliver and evaluate training within their organisation — usually bringing expertise in a specific technical, vocational or behavioural area that others in the business need to acquire. The role focuses on the practical delivery of training, linking learning activity directly to business objectives and performance, and spans a wide range of sectors and organisation types.

Key Areas Covered:

• Identifying learning and training needs across a business area

• Designing and/or sourcing appropriate training and learning solutions

• Delivering training sessions using a range of approaches and methods

• Evaluating the effectiveness of training and learning interventions

• Working with stakeholders and business area managers to align learning with performance

• Applying the learning cycle within their specific area of technical, vocational or behavioural expertise

Assessment Details

Learning and Development Practitioner Level 3 (Revised Version) is an apprenticeship standard that follows the reformed apprenticeship assessment model, where assessment is designed to be more flexible and integrated across the programme.

Training providers can choose how their apprentices are assessed: the NQual Approach, where NQual completes the full apprenticeship assessment on your behalf, or the Approved Centre Approach, where NQual works in partnership with your organisation to deliver assessment together.

This standard requires one mandatory component, alongside an additional assessment method selected from an approved list.

Additional Component

Skills England's assessment plan allows the additional assessment method for this standard to be selected from the following list:

NQual's assessment design for this standard is still in development. We'll confirm which method has been selected once finalised — in the meantime, providers can register their interest to be kept updated as our approach is published.

This standard will be approved for delivery from 11 March 2027. Training providers can register their interest with NQual now to be ready ahead of the go-live date.
