Deliver Apprenticeship Assessment for Senior Leader Level 7

Senior Leaders provide clear, inclusive and strategic leadership and direction across their area of responsibility within an organisation — typically setting, managing and monitoring achievement of core objectives aligned to the wider board strategy. Found in small, medium and large organisations across the public, private and third sectors, and spanning industries from health and finance to manufacturing, retail and construction, Senior Leaders influence at a high organisational level and help shape culture across their area of responsibility.

• Leading and managing change, drawing on systems thinking, research and data insight

• Applying ethical and values-based approaches to leadership and decision-making

• Using financial and non-financial information to inform strategic decisions

• Leading people development, including talent management, succession planning and coaching

• Building and maintaining relationships with board-level and other senior stakeholders

Assessment Details

Senior Leader Level 7 (Revised Version) is an apprenticeship standard that follows the reformed apprenticeship assessment model, where assessment is designed to be more flexible and integrated across the programme.

Training providers can choose how their apprentices are assessed: the NQual Approach, where NQual completes the full apprenticeship assessment on your behalf, or the Approved Centre Approach, where NQual works in partnership with your organisation to deliver assessment together.

This standard requires one mandatory component, alongside an additional assessment method selected from an approved list.

Skills England's assessment plan allows the additional assessment method for this standard to be selected from the following list:

• Professional discussion

NQual's assessment design for this standard is still in development. We'll confirm which method has been selected once finalised — in the meantime, providers can register their interest to be kept updated as our approach is published.

Apprentices may be assessed at any appropriate point during their apprenticeship programme.

This standard will be approved for delivery from 11 March 2027. Training providers can register their interest with NQual now to be ready ahead of the go-live date.
